PhotoArt

It seemed a great idea of the photographer Ekk, to transfer some of my paintings into photographs.

So, in a three-day-session at Ekk's Atelier in St. Gallen, we (Ekk, Roger and me) tried to do just that. I had painted backgrounds for the three planned paintings, which were "Bärenmond", "Antennae" and "Broken Inside".

But, although we worked real hard, we didn't have enough time to do all the three photos. At least two have been finished: "Bärenmond" and "Antennae" which you can find on this site.
A lot of pictures have been taken from behind the scenes. We'd like to show you some of them in black and white under the big painting-photos. Have a look!

It wasn't an easy task and soon it was clear, that it was impossible, to do the photos exactly like the paintings.
It's just very different if you work with colours, brush and your phantasy or with real light, real room and real beings! That's why the photo never came out exactly the same as the painting. It's just an artwork of it's own.

The shooting to me was great fun and a very inspiring experience and I'm looking forward to do more painting-photos in the future.

Hope you like this photo-project too!
